2013 Independent Spirit Awards

It is really disappointing that Silver Linings Playbook was the dominant film at this year's Independent Spirit Awards. The movie was made for $21 million. It is not an indie film and isn't even in the spirit of an indie film. You could finance an entire season of a network television show for that budget.

Beasts of the Southern Wild was made for less than $2 million and had no real actors and very little real crew.

Film Independent needs to reconsider what they consider an independent film.
